David leads the firm alongside the Managing Partner, bringing lawyers and staff together as one across all offices.  

Overview

As Deputy Managing Partner, David is committed to exemplary client service and a firm atmosphere of professional excellence, mutual respect, friendship and inclusiveness. He works directly with the Managing Partner on the overall leadership of the firm and implementation of its Strategic Plan. Together they have ultimate responsibility for all aspects of the firm's operations and performance.

David is directly responsible for the overall management of the firm's practice divisions and serves as the leadership liaison for the firm's professional development, recruiting, diversity and inclusion, and pro bono committees.

He has served as Deputy Managing Partner since 2021, and has served on the firm's Board of Directors for many years. David is a strong, supportive leader to colleagues at the firm and in his community.

Experience

David assisted three individuals in litigation to confirm their status as beneficiaries to family trusts valued at more than $1 billion.

David created the protocol used to determine heirs of the late pop star Prince Rogers Nelson. The district court adopted the protocol, which was unanimously affirmed by the Minnesota Court of Appeals.

Setting legal precedent in Minnesota, David obtained the dismissal of all claims in a multi-count class action brought against one of the nation’s leading providers of funeral insurance.
