Chip is co-managing partner of the firm’s St. Louis office. He currently provides counsel to a number of publicly and privately held businesses, assisting on a range of matters including corporate finance, real estate and general corporate matters. Chip has significant experience in real estate matters, including acquisitions, dispositions, new development, leasing, and financing. He has prepared and closed numerous acquisitions and dispositions of commercial properties across the country, including office buildings, shopping centers, industrial/warehouse facilities, mixed used developments, resort condominiums and hotel properties. He also has negotiated leases throughout the U.S. for several national retailers. Chip was appointed by the Governor of the State of Missouri to act as the Public Member for the Missouri Real Estate Commission. He is currently serving as Vice-Chair of the Commission.

Representative Experience

Served as outside real estate counsel for PetSmart, Inc. and negotiated over 100 retail leases in locations throughout the United States.
Counsel to Angelica Corporation in selling and leasing industrial facilities.
Counsel to Luhr Brothers, Inc. in the disposition of an approximately 350 acre site in mid-Missouri and in the acquisition of an industrial site along the Chicago River in Chicago, Illinois.
Counsel to Sabreliner Corporation in multiple real estate related transactions.
Served as leasing counsel for Dick's Sporting Goods, Inc.
Served as counsel for the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation in the acquisition and construction of its headquarters facility in Kansas City, Missouri.
Counsel to largest franchisee of T.G.I Friday's in the Midwest.

Of Note

Chip has provided counsel in connection with the financing necessary to take a public company private, including credit financing through a consortium of banks and a sale lease-back transaction involving approximately 45 properties. He has also recently closed a 14-property sale/leaseback transaction, including industrial facilities in eight states.
