Charley represents clients in areas of federal, state and local taxation, business planning and estate planning. In tax matters, Charley has represented clients in civil tax controversies and criminal tax investigations, appearing before the United States Tax Court, U.S. District Courts and the Missouri Administrative Hearing Commission. He has also appeared for clients at numerous administrative levels in tax controversies involving federal and state income taxation, employment taxes, gift taxes, federal excise taxes, and state sales and use taxes. Charley has worked extensively in forming non-profit corporations, obtaining tax-exempt status for them and advising them on the applicability of federal taxes and state laws. Charley has also assisted clients with purchases and sales of businesses and in general business matters, including drafting agreements.
