Brooks is a trial attorney and advocate with more than 25 years experience in civil litigation, trials and appeals. His trial experience includes employment discrimination and wrongful discharge cases, personal injury and wrongful death, disputes over non-competition and non-solicitation, software license/development agreements, product liability, and business and real estate cases. His trial and appeals experience includes the state and federal courts in both Missouri and Kansas and several federal circuits. Brooks has experience as counsel in arbitration cases as well as mediation.

Representative Experience

Successfully tried to juries in federal and state courts cases alleging employment discrimination on account of age, gender and race; sexual harassment; retaliation; equal pay; and workers' compensation claim retaliation
Jury trial experience includes allegations of defective products, negligence, and breach of contract in employment agreements, personal injury and wrongful death and property damage
Has tried to courts in Missouri and Kansas injunction cases involving restrictive covenants
Has acted as counsel in arbitrations including software licensing and develoment, employment discrimination and construction disputes
Cases have been tried in the state courts in Kansas and Missouri and the U.S. District Courts for the District of Kansas and the Western District of Missouri
Has argued appellate cases in the federal Courts of Appeal for the Eighth, Tenth and District of Columbia Circuits and the courts of appeal and supreme courts of both Missouri and Kansas
