Allison serves as the firm's Deputy Managing Partner, and also is a member of the firm's Executive and Policy Committees. In addition to her management role, Allison has handled numerous commercial litigation matters in both federal and state courts in Missouri and Kansas and other states, including California, Colorado, Indiana, Nebraska, New York, Vermont and Virginia. Allison regularly handles trust and estate litigation. Her trust and estate litigation experience includes maintaining and defending trust termination and reformation actions, adversary probate proceedings and defending corporate fiduciaries against claims of fraud, negligence and breach of fiduciary duty arising out of the creation and administration of trusts. Such actions have included claims regarding indemnification, the diversification of trust assets, the investment of trust assets and the refusal to make discretionary distributions to trust beneficiaries.
Allison also has experience in prosecuting and defending complex, multi-party environmental litigation under CERCLA. These actions have included claims for contractual and common law indemnification. A cost recovery action, brought on behalf of a former government defense contractor against the United States Army, Navy and Department of Defense and 25 private parties for cleanup of a privately-owned landfill, resulted in a multi-million dollar settlement by the government defendants, the first known settlement by the government for contamination at an off-site landfill generated by a “company-owned-company operated” plant.
